A Year in the Streets:
From the Seattle WTO Protests to the Bush Inauguration

In the turbulent year 2000, the seeds of financial collapse and failing democracy were already growing, and a whole generation of activists knew it. Watch as Cascadia Media Collective camera crews document the wave of outrage and hope that swept the country, from Seattle to L.A. and all the way to Prague, then back again to Washington, D.C., just in time for the inauguration of the
worst president ever.
There will be something in this film to offend, and inspire, almost anyone. It shows everyday people, joining together to change the world, and it unflinchingly records the response of the state. A Year in the Streets is about what happens when people actually use the rights of free expression and assembly
guaranteed to them in the United States Constitution.
The events in the film took place almost eight years ago, but the questions it raises are entirely relevant today.
