A Chase scene from A Classic Chase Film Skool 2008

Under Story Film Skool 2008 began very simply and finished very strong. The first short we attempted was a very simple and straight forward piece titled Table Conversations this project gave the crew a basic understanding of how a video is put together with story boards and shot sequences. It also showed the crew the value of time management.

A few weeks later we attempted a more ambitious and complete story with Sucker Punch. Here we studied screenwriting structure with more focus on the directing of actors.

Time to Go was a simple yet effective exercise in tempo management through the use of different shot sequence techniques.

What About Erica copied the classic soap opera style and focused on attention turning with eye movement. Out patient was the first attempt at deep staging. Piano Cafe was the first short that we explored more advanced lighting techniques with the aid of TJ a friend of ours who has experience as a Hollywood lighting tech.

The Stakeout was an extremely ambitious short that takes place outdoors with attention to lighting a car interior at night.

Finding Goldilocks was the final short for the class and is probably the best of the bunch. Shot entirely on location over two separate weeks. Time management was crucial and the crew worked like trained professionals the entire time. This was a great way to end the year.
