Scene from Sex Hair the web series
Today the ghost of projects future brings us Portlingrad. This is a look into the not so disstent future when the Chinese government decides to reclaim the staggering debt owed by the United States by taking over the west coast. Visual effects for this project will be provided by Hard Reality.org in partnership with Brokeass Games using their revolutionary new physics driven animation software Ecstasy Motion. Production will take place in both Eugene and Portland and is scheduled to begin in June of 2010. An open casting call is under way for both cast and crew members.
The ghost of projects present brings us Sex Hair the Web Series. This comedy series is about an 80's style air band that has dreams of making it big. Under Story Productions produced and directed the first four episodes of the series and is currently editing them down. We also produced and directed a music video of them perfoming to Journey's Separate Ways. You can check it out here.
The ghost of projects passed brings us the Kill Bill Parody. An early directing lesson, this project recreated the script and was restory boarded with all 108 shots of the final battle between Black Mamba and O-Ren Ishii from the film by Quinton Terintino to match the original as close as possible. The sword battle scenes also were choreographed to match the original as well as the score and Japanese translation. Quite an undertaking for a first time directing asignment but also quite a large lesson to be learn in one project.
A Year in the Streets Flash back to the turbulent year 2000. In a time before the Patriot Act and Homeland Security, people had the courage to take to the streets and demand real change.
Watch as Cascadia Media Collective camera crews document a wave of outrage and hope that swept the country, from the N30 1999 WTO meetings in Seattle, to the Democratic National Convention in LA, all the way to Prague and back again to Washington DC for the Bush Inauguration. Along the way, check out a series of local demonstrations about everything from old growth logging and the gravel quarry on River Road to animal rights at the circus and justice for Mumia Abu Jamal. And finally, observe the response of the police, when people actually use their constitutionally guaranteed right to freedom of speech and assembly." - Portland IMC
